Our Beloved Prophet

Our greatly loved prophet, Prisident Gordon B. Hinckley, has passed away. He was 97. Last night at approximately 7 pm, President Hinckley died in his apartment due to old age, surrounded by his loving family. Please pray that his family will be comforted in this time of grief and sadness. We know that he is happy now and at peace, having rejoined his wife, Marjorie Hinckle, who died at age 93. He missed her so much after her death on April 6th, 2004.
*
President Hinckley wrote this song, which is included in our hymn book. It is his testimony of the Savior, Jesus Christ.
*
My Redeemer Lives lyrics by Gordon B. Hinckley
*
I know that my Redeemer lives,
Triumphant Savior, Son of God,
Victorious over pain and death,
My King, my Leader, and my Lord.
*
He lives, my one sure rock of faith,
The one bright hope of men on earth,
The beacon to a better way,
The light beyond the veil of death.
*
Oh, give me thy sweet Spirit still,
The peace that comes alone from thee,
The faith to walk the lonely road
That leads to thine eternity.
